Hey everybody, I'm relocating my art blog to tumblr! The image viewing experience there is more versatile, and the interface much more streamlined. This blog will remain online, but will no longer be updated. You can redirect to my current blog by clicking the link:

Garden
It's been a while, so here's a long overdue update! I'm going to try to post a lot more frequently this year. In this piece, I wanted to explore a range of color interactions, while keeping an emphasis on scale and atmosphere.

Alien Study
It's been a while since I've posted anything new, so here's a quick alien study I did this afternoon. Hopefully I'll have some more in-depth projects to show soon.

MD Tourism
Earlier in the summer I made a few illustrations
for these ads for Maryland Tourism. Kenny and Steve at TBC/ Charles
St. Films were a breeze to work with and made the project go off without
a hitch. Animated elements were added in house, I believe, by fellow
MICA alum Tyler Hach. My work can be seen at 0:03, 0:05, 0:15 in the
Civil War Trails spot, and at 0:03 in the Scenic Byways one.

Golem
I've always thought golems were pretty neat, but hadn't drawn one until now. He looks like he could be friendly if he wasn't an unstoppable rock beast.

Toad Sketch
Did this quick pink-goo drooling toad head just to brush up on my digital painting. I tried to shoehorn it into some kind of finished illustration (always a bad idea) but no dice. Got some other things brewing though, so stay tuned!

In Search of the Soul II
I went back and took another shot at my "In Search of the Soul" illustration, since it really always looked more like a practice piece than a finished one (which, in a lot of ways, it was). It was nice to be able to go back to a piece that was the first step of a transition in my style and treat it with a much more confident vision.
